Wilson Mineiro

Founder & Head Coach, Boston Vigor FC

Wilson Lopes Teixeira, known across Brazil as Wilson Mineiro, is a former professional right back with 19 years of top-level playing experience. He played for some of Brazil’s most storied clubs, including Clube de Regatas Botafogo and Corinthians Paulista, and was part of the 1995 Brazilian Championship-winning team with Botafogo. At the peak of his career, Wilson competed in front of crowds of over 130,000 fans and earned recognition as one of Brazil’s top right backs, regularly featured on national television.

After retiring from professional play, Wilson dedicated the past 16 years to coaching and youth development in the Boston area. His deep understanding of the game, combined with his passion for teaching, has helped shape some of the city’s most promising young players.

At Boston Vigor FC, Wilson brings more than elite-level experience—he brings heart, discipline, and a deep commitment to helping players grow, both technically and mentally. His mission is to give back to the game and the community that has given him so much..
